Our daughter Bee joined Rachael for a term of sewing, and after years of after-school activities, she concluded that this was by far the best one she’s ever taken part in.
Rachael is warm and nurturing and has created a cosy and creative space where kids of all ages can enjoy tailored classes where skills are honed, and creativity can flourish. Rachael is engaged and really wants each individual to not only learn a new skill but also to feel relaxed and enjoy their time in her lovely studio. Bee found
Rachael’s classes inspiring, and it has given her the confidence to pursue her creativity. Rachael was incredibly generous and supportive of Bee and went out of her way to ensure Bee had ample opportunity to work with Rachael, even when I know it wasn’t ideal for Rachael’s timetable.

I attended a 1-to-1 session with Rachael to help me alter a dress rather than pay someone to do it for me, as I wanted to learn the process.
I worked alongside Rachael to alter. I had a fitting to make sure we made the dress the right size for me and to check how it looked in the mirror, pinned to get the correct width and length, and altered the straps too. We then finished the alterations using a sewing machine. It was quite a transformation.
I am so pleased I did this WITH Rachael as not only do I have a dress I can now wear, I am also feeling confident to pick up some pins and a pair of scissors and let myself loose on my wardrobe to alter a few items I’ve not worn for a long time. I even bought a top from a charity shop, confident that once I’ve altered the sleeves, I’ll have a lovely wearable top.
Rachael is just lovely and very supportive.

I enjoyed learning all the things about sewing and all the things you can do with it. I learnt skills and techniques, such as how to put a zip in following patterns, learning machine settings and what to use them for, and hand sewing. I enjoyed learning how to use the sewing patterns so I can use them at home as well. I like making things we can use every day.
